Summer Activities in Beaver Creek

Biking
Onsite bike rentals are available at The Westin Riverfront's Beaver Creek Sports location. Cruise on the bike path along the Eagle River into Edwards or Vail, or explore Avon and ride up to the Beaver Creek Village. Reservations are not required. 

Fishing
Onsite fly fishing is available at The Westin Riverfront through the Gore Creek Fly Fisherman. Offering daily clinics and guided tours, either in our backyard or at numerous other fabulous Colorado fishing spots. Reservations can be made through our concierge. 

Hiking
To clear up any possible doubts in your mind, if you are visiting Colorado and seeking beautiful pristine places, then the wilderness areas here will satisfy your soul. Splendid beauty, miles and miles of quiet scenic trails. Imagine sitting next to a wilderness waterfall, an occasional humid mist dampening your face, you look up at the sheer valley  walls above, so steep and rugged it feels like a place no one has been before. Head right out our back door to the Beaver Creek Mountain for a variety of trails for beginners and those who are more adventurous.  Or you can access the trailheads for Colorado Fourteeners by car.  Our concierge team will provide you with trailmaps.  View Fourteeners Trailmaps

White Water Rafting
It's time to get acquainted with the Colorado rivers, unique in their combination of high-mountain scenery and whitewater excitement! Several tour operators offer white water rafting from May through the end of September. Most tour operators provide equipment, transportation and a variety of trips for families or those who want more adventure.  Reservations can be made through our concierge. 

Jeep Tours
Experience a sense of wilderness while traveling the countryside in an impressive fourwheeled vehicle. Whether it's the All-American Jeep or the versatile, larger-than-life Hummer you select, the experience will create lasting memories. Enjoy some of the most panoramic views in the valley including fields of wildflowers and possible wildlife.  Jeep tours are available through numerous tour operators.   Reservations can be made through our concierge.

Kayaking
Kayaking has become one of the Vail Valley local's favorite summertime activities. Enjoyed by those who look forward to the spring melt as much as the first snow! Our concierge can organize kayak lessons, ranging from a beginners outing to a day of adventure in Avon's Whitewater Park. This is a great way to experience the river and try something a bit different than your usual raft trip. Reservations can be made through our concierge. 

Horseback Riding
Horseback ride across historic homesteads or through rich and picturesque backcountry. Enjoy the company of your knowledgeable guide who will share with you the history of the land and terrain on which you ride. Horseback riding is available on the Beaver Creek Mountain only, located just 2 miles from the resort.  Reservations can be made through our concierge.

Beaver Creek Rodeo
The Beaver Creek Rodeo takes place every Thursday evening between June 18th and August 20th.  Enjoy an easy walk from the resort and a wonderful family filled show. Reservations are not required.

Concerts
Enjoy a variety of summer concerts:

  • June Jam - Celebrate summer in the Rockies with on-mountain events, kids activities and free concerts in the Plaza.
  • Bud Light Hot Summer Nights offers free concerts every Tuesday (June 17 - August 19th) at the outdoor Gerald Ford Amphitheater, located just 9 miles from resort
  • Vail Jazz Festival (Labor Day Weekend)

Tennis
The Beaver Creek Tennis Center welcomes players of all levels. Our teaching professionals have a genuine enthusiasm for the game and extensive teaching experience at all levels of play. The Tennis Center has five clay and two hard courts and boasts a complete pro shop with men's and women's apparel, racquets, and accessories. Located in the Beaver Creek Village and just 2 miles from the resort.  Transportation is not provided. 

Private or group lessons available upon request by USPTA certified staff. 

Court fees: 8am - 1pm: $20/hour and 1pm - 5pm: $12/hr
Ball Machine: $10/hr plus court fee, Hopper Balls ($5), Loaner Racquets (free), Demo Racquets ($5/hr)
Private Lessons: One person: 1/2 hour: $40, 1 hr ($65); 2 people 1 hr ($75), 3 people 1 hr ($85)

Swimming
With breathtaking mountain views, enjoy a relaxing visit at our outdoor heated 25-yard lap pool. Stay fit or work on your stroke in one of four lap lanes. Our pool is the center of activities in the sparkling summer months and a steamy respite during the brisk winter months. Unwind after an exhilarating day on the slopes or  after a long hike in one of our three infinity hot tubs overlooking the Eagle River.  Pool-side dining is available.  Dive-in movies will be offered in the summer months.

Red Sky Golf Club
